With its modern architecture, green spaces and restricted traffic, Hogekwartier is a comfortable place to call home. Still, literally everything is within easy reach: shops, schools, restaurants, parks and sports facilities. Amerena is the area’s popular sports centre, boasting a swimming pool, a gym and a sports bar. But the city centre also offers great cafes for drinks with friends. Or you can relax in the green outdoors, such as the De Schammer nature reserve.

A central location
Amersfoort is right in the centre of the country. Cadenza is also conveniently located within cycling distance of the stunning city centre. Central living at its finest. Wherever you wish to go, everything is within reach from your apartment. Because the Hogekwartier district is close to various main roads; the A28 or A1 motorways are mere minutes away. Perfect for commuting to your out-of-town job. Of course there are also plenty of public transport options to take you anywhere you want to go. There is a bus stop nearby, at Hogeweg, for the Bus 102 service between Amersfoort Central Station and Apeldoorn. The Amersfoort train station is a great hub to the rest of the country.

Be sure to keep a close eye on the events calendar. The inner city is alive and kicking and the great thing is, you can cycle to De Hof in only ten minutes!

The city of Amersfoort is home to a wealth of sights and attractions. Discover Museum Flehiete for example, or Mondriaanhuis, or Kunsthal KAdE. Visit Koppelpoort, Onze Lieve Vrouwetoren or Muurhuizen, and feel like you’ve stepped into the Middle Ages. Also highly recommend: the KunstKwartier!

Amersfoort is a great city for shopping, even on Sundays! The city boasts a great variety of shops set against a tasteful and historic backdrop. Go to Langestraat for all the well-known brands, or visit the exclusive and charming boutiques in Krommestraat or De Kamp. No day of shopping would be complete without a delicious cappuccino or lunch at one of the many restaurants and cafes.

Clear your head on the water
Get some fresh air and relax on a boat trip on the Waterlijn, and enjoy all the sights the city has to offer. Medieval gateways, historic buildings and façades, the unique Muurhuizen (“wall houses”) and more. Boat tours are scheduled between April and October. But of course you can also rent your own boat and discover Amersfoort and surroundings on your own terms.

Discover the area’s nature reserves
Living in Amersfoort is living in a delightfully green environment. The city has plenty of parks and gardens. But the area around the city has loads to offer too, such as the Soester Duinen area with drifting sands, de Schrammer, the Utrecht Hill Ridge, the Veluwe, the Gelderse Vallei and Arkemheen-Eemland. All great places to go hiking or cycling.
